Welcome to Year One
Welcome to Year 1's page on our school website. We hope you enjoy finding out about what we are doing in school this term.
Our Teachers are Mrs. Harvey and Miss Sampson
Our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Lockyer
Year One is an important transitional year in every child’s education.
The Year One curriculum builds upon and extends the experiences that the children have had in Class R moving from EYFS to the National Curriculum. Some learning through play will continue to be an important part of the school day, allowing our children to remain motivated, enthused and eager learners. The environment and curriculum is organised to enable children to develop independence, positive dispositions and to share ownership of their learning.

In Autumn 2 we are learning about People Who Help Us.
We are having some special visitors in school to tell us about what they do and how they help people. We will be making vehicles in Design and Technology. It is going to be very exciting!S

Please click here to look at out Autumn learning experience.
We had a visit from People Who Help Us. A nurse, a paramedic and some firefighters came to visit us to tell us about their jobs. We even had fake injuries and we pretended we were paramedics helping patients. Some of us were patients and had plasters on our arms and others had pretend head injuries! It was brilliant to learn about these important jobs. Lots of us want to do these jobs when we grow up. We can't wait to learn more about Poeple WHo Help Us.
